Seren Taun Desa Kaolotan Cisitu Lebak
Seren Taun adalah tradisi perayaan panen yang dilakukan masyarakat Karuhunan Banten Selatan (Lebak). Warga kaolotan (baca : kasepuhan) secara turun temurun melakukan tradisi tersebut yang merupakan perwujudan rasa syukur atas hasil panen padi yang diberikan oleh Sang Khalik. Prosesi ini tidak hanya melibatkan masyarakat desa adat, tetapi juga masyarakat umum yang dilaksanakan selama sepekan. (more…)

Staging Sustainability: Arts, Community, Culture, Environment
How can we produce art that reflects, celebrates, critiques and advances the cultural life of our community without contributing to the destruction of the setting that inspires these artistic endeavours?
The Faculty of Fine Arts at York University (Toronto – Canada) invites proposals for papers for Staging Sustainability: Arts, Community, Culture, Environment, a conference taking place April 20-22, 2011.
The conference will provide an opportunity for artists and those who support the arts in a myriad of ways – from scholars, critics, producers and designers to policy-makers, industry and government – to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue about issues associated with the creation of environmentally sustainable arts practice and performance.
The conference committee welcomes proposals for papers that consider the relationship between the cultural and ecological aspects of sustainability in the arts, and may encompass aspects of subjectivity with respect to community and identity.

Design Walks – 2nd Sustainable Summer School
The “2nd Sustainable Summer School” for design students from all around the world starts on August 30 and ends September 4, 2010.
It will take place in Jüchen, near the city of Cologne (Germany).
Creative ideas for a sustainable design of our daily life will again be in the spotlight, this year by looking at “Societies, Systems and Swarms”. Introduced to the subject by a public expert day, the students will work together for several days in inspiring workshops conducted by well known institutions.
The “2nd Sustainable Summer School” offered students from all over the world the unique possibility to design and to shape the future lifestyle in a sustainable way.
