Introduction

     For residents of cities, a simple question remains at the heart of their engagement with the city: what can people do together and under what circumstances? What is it that people do with each other when what they do isn’t quite competition, collaboration, conflict, possession or dispossession?  From this question stem the critical dimensions of urban policy in terms of who residents have to deal with, talk to, be intruded upon or intruding; who does space belong to, who has access to what kinds of space for what purposes?  As soon as these considerations are opened up then a wide range of political, administrative and technical consideration about how cities are run also become more contestable and specific.

“Ensiklopedia bebas yang dapat disunting semua orang.” Demikian moto Wikipedia, ensiklopedia daring yang sudah tak asing lagi bagi hampir semua orang yang terbiasa mencari referensi di Internet.

Tapi, tahukah Anda bagaimana caranya membuat atau menyunting artikel di Wikipedia? Apa itu sudut pandang netral, pemastian, dan prinsip-prinsip lain yang harus diperhatikan sewaktu menulis di Wikipedia? Bagaimana kebiasaan-kebiasaan dan pola interaksi komunitas Wikipediawan?

Berbagai pertanyaan tentang Wikipedia ini akan dijawab langsung pada lokakarya “Menulis di Wikipedia” yang akan diadakan sebagai bagian acara Indonesia ICT Awards 2009 serta diselenggarakan atas kerjasama Wikimedia Indonesia dan Depkominfo pada

Pada lokakarya ini, semua peserta akan dapat melakukan praktik langsung untuk menulis di Wikipedia melalui komputer dan koneksi Internet yang disediakan serta dibimbing oleh para Wikipediawan bahasa Indonesia.

Pendaftaran GRATIS tapi TERBATAS hanya bagi 100 peserta (50 orang untuk masing-masing sesi). Ayo, daftarkan diri Anda sekarang agar tak kehabisan tempat!

Green Drinks (www.greendrinks.org) is an informal networking event where sustainable business and environmentally minded people meet over drinks. Started in London in 1989, by Edwin Datschefski and friends, it has spread to 51 cities in the United Kingdom, 223 in the U.S. and many more in Canada, Germany, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Chile and Puerto Rico. As of March 2009, there are over 450 Green Drink Chapters worldwide.

Green drinks have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. People with green minded should come along and will be made welcome. Just say, “are you green?” and they will looked after and introduced to whoever is there. It’s a great way of catching up with people and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network.

These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity.

The Jakarta Chapter was initiated by APCO Worldwide and the first networking event will be held on July, 14 2009. Greendrinks will be held on a monthly basis.

SUCCESS STORY

The New York City Green Drinks Chapter was founded by Margaret Lydecker in July 2002 and is the largest global chapter with 10,000 members. The December 2007 Holiday Party, marked the largest Green Drinks event in New York City to date with a 900+ person record attendance, which was covered by CNN. Green Drinks NYC has an average attendance of 400 people held at different venues around Manhattan and has been a big cataylst for connectivity, community, collaboration and change in the environmental sector in New York and beyond. Margaret has made significant contributions to the growth and expansion of Green Drinks chapters around the world personally helping to start or influence 100+ chapters including a chapter in Kabul Afganistan and is the USA point person for Green Drinks.

As of 15 February 2007, Melbourne, Australia holds the record for the world’s biggest Green Drinks. Over 1700 people attended an event held on the first evening of the city’s 2008 Sustainable Living Festival.

GOALS

Greendrinks first launch is aimed at gathering people (professionals, NGO activists, government officials, journalists, etc) who are interested in sustainable business and environmental issues to network and exchange thoughts or ideas in a very informal setting.
