Background:
/The Rules (www.therules.org) is a new citizen-powered, global movement that unites the voices and collective power of the worlds majority to change rules that perpetuate poverty and inequality. Our objective is to build the first truly post-aid advocacy organization a social justice organization that merges the power of digital technology with the solidarity of the global public.
We are evolving the traditional organizing model by marrying the best of online organizing (e.g. the rapid response capability of groups like Avaaz,) with the decentralized network model (e.g. with principles from movements like Occupy and Indignados) and synchronized campaigning (e.g. the concentrated impact of campaigns like Make Poverty History and GCAP).
Position: Regional Strategy Consultant
We are in search of a consultant to provide a well constituted and clearly developed 2014- 2017 strategic and implementation plan for /The Rules. Each consultant will cover a specific region. The regions to be covered are as follows; Asia & the Pacific and Latin America & the Caribbean. Included in the strategy should be a social and political analysis of the given region.
Specific Objectives
To produce a three-year strategic plan based on the overarching organisational strategy, specific to the selected region. Included in the strategic plan should be a detailed implementation plan designed to achieve the strategic objectives proposed.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for designing a regionally tailored three-year strategic and implementation plan in line with the organisations overarching strategy. The consultant will work closely with the other regional consultants in developing a well-integrated and efficient plan. The consultant will be expected to accomplish the following tasks:

The consultancy duration is from November 2013 February 2014.
